Jean Elaine Leveque has been a fan of the San Francisco 49ers for as long as she can remember even knowing about football. Her father is a big fan, her husband is a big fan and her brothers are also big fans of this legendary team. In recent history, the 49ers have had a big run of success. Despite the fact that it did not quite achieve the level of the most legendary eras in the late 70s, the 1980s and early 1990s, the team did reach the Super Bowl but lost. Unfortunately due to internal strife on the team, the coach that was behind the engineering of that Super Bowl run has since departed the 49ers family. Adding to that commotion is the fact that they have also lost the services of a number of key players. A couple have left through free agency, there have been a number that have retired at or near the peak of their careers.

Thankfully, there is great hope for the 49ers because they do have a tradition of winning which they truly wish to get back to. It is after all the NFL and that means that any team can be any other team on any given Sunday. More than that, they have services of a great coach that came from within the ranks who will be working with this first team as a head coach and they also have a number of great new pieces to add to the mix.

The division that they plan has some of the greatest teams in the NFC conference of the NFL. The Seattle Seahawks have appeared in back-to-back super Bowls, winning one of them and very nearly winning the other. The Arizona Cardinals are a team that is noted for its brilliant offensive strategy and young defense. The point is, if there was ever a division in which a team could emerge from having reasonable expectations, the Western division in which the 49ers play in is the place to do that. There is nothing like a challenge in the world of sports and stepping up to the plate is but one of the things that may make a difference in the outlook for the season ahead.
