Ice hockey is a sport that is not played by just anyone. It takes a lot of practice and dedication to become a good athlete. Hard work, coordination, and determination are just some key factors in being able to compete at a high level. Ian Larocque of Kingston, Canada has believes in having determination and putting in hard work on and off the ice.

Starting in 1996, Ian Larocque was a hockey player in pursuit of one day making it big. It all started when Ian Larocque played hockey at the collegiate level for Northern Michigan University. From there, his dreams of becoming a professional hockey player were right around the corner. He started with the Waco Wizards in 1998 and was traded to the Amarillo Rattlers in 1999, where he played 2 years on the ice until the Austin Ice Bats snatched him up.

In his first year with the Austin Ice Bats, Ian Larocque really showed the league what he was made of. Being a part of the Central Hockey League, the Austin Ice Bats were in need of some great players. With a GP of 59 for the year and 37 goals for the season, Ian Larocque was a key player on the ice. With his great sense of urgency and his dedication to the game, Ian Larocque was someone that every team wanted.

His ability to lead others on the ice developed more than just hockey skills over his years of playing. Ian Larocque learned how to work with many different individuals, listen and learn from many different coaches, and believe in his own skills. In his two years with the Austin Ice Bats, Ian Larocque became more than just a hockey player, he became a part of a family. He grew with the team, developed with the team, and overall became someone that the community and other hockey players looked up to. With his hard work, dedication, and love for the game, Ian Larocque was an asset to the team and community. He looks forward to finding new ways to serve the community in the future.
