Some of Rhenne Cervantes’s friends and family gather together to thank him for his years of dedication to helping people and the community.

A large group of friends and family recently gathered together to celebrate Rhenne Cervantes’s dedication to the community over the last two decades. Rhenne Cervantes is a known as a selfless community man, driven by a desire to help others at all costs. His friends decided it would be a nice gesture to hold a celebration to honor his humanitarian spirit.

Rhenne Cervantes is known as a leader in many different facets of his life. He became an ordained Catholic priest in 1992, after graduating with a Masters in Divinity from Notre Dame Seminary earlier that year. Since then he has held various leadership roles in the Catholic Church, including being the Archdiocese of New Orleans from 1992-2006, and a member of the Vestry at Christ Church Covington in Covington, Louisiana. Currently, Rhenne Cervantes serves as the elected Senior Warden at Christ Church Covington.

Outside of the church, Rhenne Cervantes has a proven record of business leadership. Rhenne Cervantes works for McMath Construction as a Project Development Manager, a role in which he is looked to for advice and leadership.
While not assuming leadership roles in his chosen career paths, Rhenne Cervantes spends his time working with charitable organizations. In 2009, Rhenne Cervantes founded Christmas on the Lake in Mandeville, Louisiana, an event where local businesses gather together to serve meals during the holiday season. Rhenne Cervantes also spent time helping out with the tornado relief efforts in Anniston, Alabama a few years ago. An ongoing organization Rhenne Cervantes works with is Kiwanis International.

With Rhenne Cervantes being so involved with helping others, his friends and family wanted to take an evening to show him how much he means to them. “It was a special evening. I was totally surprised, and never expected it,” said Rhenne Cervantes. “I really don’t look at myself as being anyone special, I just do what is right. Deep down, I believe that we as humans are called to help each other in times of need. That’s what I’m about,” Rhenne Cervantes continued.

The celebration was held at a local restaurant, and guests enjoyed food and drinks followed by performances by local musicians.
