Farrukh Chaudhry Becomes Board Certified

Farrukh Chaudhry certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

 
Farrukh Chaudhry is a licensed neurologist who recently became board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Prior to his certification, Farrukh Chaudhry attended Allama Iqbal Medical School in Lahore, Pakistan. Farrukh Chaudhry graduated from medical school in 2004, and then moved to Kingston, New York in 2008 to pursue an internship at Kingston Hospital. In 2012, Farrukh Chaudhry successfully completed his residency in Neurology at Loyola University Medical Center, Stritch School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois. Farrukh Chaudhry also pursued his first fellowship at Loyola where he focused on vascular neurology. Farrukh Chaudhry has also been a member of the American Academy of Neurology since 2009.

Farrukh Chaudhry has always been devoted to being a leader in the neurology field and has been acknowledged for his research related to transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), also known as mini strokes. Farrukh Chaudhry obtained his certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as a way to further distinguish him in the discipline. Farrukh Chaudhry stated, “I have always gone over-and-beyond with my work, and I have to prove to others I offer superior medical assistance. ABPN provides me with a label that identifies me as a competent and educated physician in the neurology field.”

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certifies both neurologists and neuroscientists after they have passed an approved training program and extensive evaluation process. During the evaluation process, Farrukh Chaudhry was assessed on his ability to provide quality patient care in his specialty. Farrukh Chaudhry and other neurologists who are certified through APBN have specialized skills to diagnose and treat stroke, brain and spinal cord tumors, muscular dystrophy, headache and other pain, meningitis, encephalitis, epilepsy, Parkinson disease, Alzheimer disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and effects of systemic diseases. “It was never in question whether or not I would get board certified,” Farrukh Chaudhry said. “I viewed it as a priority.”

Farrukh Chaudhry is currently in Cleveland, Ohio finishing his second fellowship in neurocritical care at the Cleveland Clinic. Farrukh Chaudhry is still conducting research and hopes to get more of his findings published in journals in the future.
