Research has shown that children participating in Big Brothers Big Sister are 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, 27% less likely to begin using alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class, and 33% less likely to hit someone than other struggling children. Evelyn Ackah is very proud to be a supporter of such an important organization, and the organization is pleased to have someone as intelligent and compassionate as her.

Too many times we see violence and poverty as being confined to distant countries as if we have been displaced, but many communities are underdeveloped right below our noses. These communities are caught in the midst of drug wars, and a lack of education and infrastructure makes it hard for their youth to gain hold of a ledge to pull themselves up. Wisdom is one thing that a mentor can offer their little brother or little sister. A visible example is another thing they can offer. Evelyn Ackah loves that she is in a position to offer both.
