Posted May 20, 2015 by pzmediainc1

A committed community volunteer, Erica Desai, promotes the American Red Cross and provides information on the mission of their organization.

Erica Desai has spent much of her life volunteering her time and talent to

several outstanding charitable organizations. One of her most valued

volunteer activities is the time she has spent with the American Red

Cross.

To Desai, the American Red Cross is an essential source of philanthropy

and community. Providing disaster relief, health and safety services,

lifesaving blood drives and distribution, and support for America's Military

and their families, the Red Cross is the cornerstone of charity in the

United States.

Erica Desai has devoted her talent as a healthcare professional to help

support Red Cross efforts through assisting with blood drives, patient

check-ins, recording patient information such as vitals, and numerous

other valuable duties.

Desai would like to let others know about the fulfilling and rewarding

work the American Red Cross offers to those that volunteer their time.

There are many ways to help!

By donating time, money, or the lifesaving gift of blood (each blood

donation has the potential to save up to three lives!) you are helping

better the lives of others. You may also be able to help by providing

education in hosting a class, or further educating yourself by attending

one of many available classes. Fundraising, connecting with a group or

program, or simply preparing your family in the event of a crisis, are all

ways to help do your part and support the American Red Cross.

Desai is well aware of the needs the American Red Cross sets out to

meet. With more than Seventy-thousand responses to nationwide

disasters annually, the Red Cross has quite a hefty mission.

As Desai knows through helping with the Red Cross blood drives, one of

the easiest and most critical means of assistance is donating blood. The

Red Cross alone supplies forty percent of the nation's blood supply, with

41,000 donations needed every day. Every two seconds someone in the

United States needs blood, and a single victim in a car crash could

require up to one hundred pints of blood. Chances are you or someone

you know may one day be in need!

The Red Cross has locations and donation centers located in every part

of the United States! It is easy to help, and giving others the gift of your

donation in whatever way possible will leave you a different person!
