The founder of a leading business investment firm, Dr. Nel looks to share basic information he believes every new investor should now before committing their money.

Gate Investment Group, a leading South African investment collective, was founded by Dr. Nel in 1997, and has since become the premiere source of financing and support to small and midrange businesses throughout both South Africa and countries in the surrounding area. Nel, utilising unparalleled and highly effective investing methods, has transformed his firm into an investment and financing leader, and has enjoyed the opportunity to make many investors a lot of money of his nearly 20 year career.

An expert in the lucrative field of business investment, as well as a proven financial success story, Dr. Nel continues to provide both his investors and his colleagues a unique level of insight into what is needed to make successful, profitable investments. Below, Nel seeks to share a bit of his acquired wisdom and insight with the first time investor; a few basic pieces of information he believes can provide a solid investment foundation.

Stock, says Dr. Nel, is placed on the open market by companies in order to raise cash for potential business expansion. By doing this, companies have the ability to raise the funds needed to open more locations and make more money, which, in turn, profits the investor.

An individual stock, says Nel, represents a piece of ownership in the particular company.

Bonds, as opposed to stock, says Dr. Nel, are essentially smaller loans made to a particular company by investors. Investors purchase bonds in exchange for interest, which is generally paid out by the company twice a year. When the bond matures, says Nel, a firm is required to pay back the full amount of money the investor loaned to the business.

Blue Chip Stocks, says Nel, are generally considered better by investors than typical stock, usually because blue chips experience better growth and pay out a better dividend to investors.
SIPC Insurance, says Dr. Nel, exists to protect investors who have fallen victim to a bankrupt brokerage account. SIPC does not, however, cover any market loss suffered by an investor.

A Board of Directors, as all investors should now, is the group of people chosen to adequately represent the firm’s interests. It’s important to know, says Nel, who is at the helm of a company before committing to an investment.

About: Dr. Nel is an experienced investment professional, as well as a trusted leader in business financing.
