Donna Dackow is a talented and successful mediator in the Florida area. She recently earned her Juris Doctorate from the Florida Coastal School of Law with a Pro Bono Honors designation for her superb public service performance. Currently a mediator at Mediation Associates of Florida, Donna Dackow relies on the skills she honed in law school, as well as throughout her varied work experience in business and management.

Before shifting to a career in mediation, Donna Dackow had earned an MBA in Human Resource Management at the University of Tampa in 1992. For over ten years she worked in management and marketing for a variety of companies. One aspect of the work that still applies to her current job as a mediator is the fact that she learned how to cooperate and work with a wide variety of people, all wanting varied outcomes from her services. This enabled Donna Dackow to build a repertoire of person-to-person skills that give her an excellent ability to communicate and present information that must get across to clients precisely.

Furthermore, working in business in both marketing and management gave Donna Dackow first-hand experience in what management and businesses want out of negotiations. She is able to communicate clearly and at the same level whenever any of her clients are from the businesses sector. This gives Donna Dackow an advantage on being able to navigate complicated and sometimes difficult issues throughout the mediation process.

Asked about the skills she honed in the business field and how they intersect with mediation Donna Dackow stated, "I feel like working in insurance and risk management was a practice in mediation itself. In business, you are constantly negotiating with other employees, employers, other businesses, and trying to accommodate the desire for varied outcomes. Mediation just takes those skills to a more intense level, plus it is a much more rewarding experience as the cases are often very significant for both parties involved."

Donna Dackow began working at Mediation Associates of Florida recently. She looks forward to continuing her career in mediation at the firm. As her skills improve each day, she is excited to look back and see how far she has come as a mediator and a professional in future years.
