David Berkowitz of Chicago, Illinois, has dedicated himself to a life that is full of excitement and artistic endeavors. Growing up in Chicago with a devoted, loving, and adventurous family, he was taught to seek inspiration in a variety of forms. He eventually created a life for himself grounded in photography and videography as a profession. He often shares with friends and colleagues that he feels incredibly blessed to have been raised in a family where dreams came first and were ultimately supported by everyone. He received his first camera as a Christmas gift, and ever since, he has seen the world through the camera lens, looking for moments that truly describe and document the human experience as well as the world without human impact. He is an avid sports and wilderness photographer, and he is highly acclaimed in the Chicago arts community and beyond.

A life-changing experience for David Berkowitz took place when he left Chicago to put together a documentary that necessitated his visits to each of the lower 48 states. He completed the entire trip alone in his truck with a camera, a skateboard, snowboard, baseball bat, surfboard, and backpack. Over time, he began to embrace the impromptu nature of letting the wind carry him to the stories and photographs that would leave the biggest impression on himself as well as the viewers of his film and photography. He is currently in the process of editing the footage and plans on launching the documentary among friends and colleagues in the Chicago area. He is excited to see where it goes from there. He is always willing to hop in his truck to show his work because he genuinely enjoys the community aspect of art and how it brings people together.

Above all, David Berkowitz of Chicago is a thrilled advocate of the arts and community, and he simply can’t wait for his next long adventure, a European trip. He will begin the process of planning and executing this trip once he receives funding for the project. His family fully supports him in all of his artistic endeavors and greatly look forward to the launch of his new documentary.
