Melvin McDonald of French Valley is not only the President of American All Star Basketball (AASB), but he is also a coach for the D1 Ambassadors of Southern California. This group is a part of D1 Nation, which is affiliated with AASB. These travel basketball programs provide coaching and competition to students, and Melvin McDonald of French Valley believes that they are an integral component to the success of many high risk students. Travel basketball is a great way for youth to get involved in athletics and prepare for success later in life.

Another major benefit for students taking part in D1 Nation is the opportunity for college level basketball recruiting and scholarships. Melvin McDonald of French Valley has dedicated the past 15 years to aiding high risk youth, and providing them with opportunities through basketball is one way that he does this. Melvin McDonald of French Valley is the head of American All Star Basketball, which is a travel basketball program in Southern California. Through both AASB and the D1 Ambassadors of Southern California, Melvin McDonald of French Valley helps underprivileged youth.

Players in D1 Ambassadors of Southern California have the benefit of highly skilled coaches. Melvin McDonald of French Valley is certified to coach both by the NCAA and the AAU, meaning that he has experience coaching both college-level and amateur basketball. In addition, Melvin McDonald of French Valley and other coaches have specialized certification through Ganon Baker in basketball training and coaching. Ganon Baker is a well known basketball skills trainer, and certification through his program is a high honor for any basketball coach.
