Christian Del Re on why an assistant principal is just as important.

 
All personnel who work in a school are extremely important. The role that Christian Del Re took as assistant high school principal is one that is respected. Gone are the days when assistant principals were just the back-up who will sit around waiting for something to happen.

When Christian Del Re accepted the position as a high school assistant principal, he was prepared to go to greater lengths to ensure the students level of education was met and exceeded. Christian Del Re already met the requirements for the job. He has been teaching social studies to high school students for more than 10 years. Christian Del Re has an impeccable resume when it comes to his own education. A graduate of Brooklyn College who earned his Bachelor of Arts in History as well as a Master of Arts in Social Studies Education. In addition to his years studying at Brooklyn College, Christian Del Re also earned his Educational Leadership Certificate from the College of Saint Rose.

Christian Del Re says, “I will stand up for students’ rights whenever necessary.” His compassion and perseverance for education is outstanding. Christian Del Re believes an assistant principal is responsible for helping the administration but also helping the student body and the school’s staff. As assistant principal, Christian Del Re developed an interdisciplinary program where students and teachers worked on a project regarding how much progress and movement there has been since the civil rights movement. Christian Del Re was impressed with how students studied, researched, and discussed civil rights, women’s rights, and gay rights in regards to how Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream has been accomplished.

Christian Del Re advises an assistant principal must pay attention to all details that go on in the school. An assistant principal must have great communication skills when speaking with students, parents, and staff. Christian Del Re considers communication skills to be the paramount in order to be effective when addressing issues with parents regarding students, staff, or administration.

Christian Del Re served as a high school assistant principal for three years. It was job that he was proud to have been give then opportunity to complete.
