Caitlin Lizza has a full plate of activities on her agenda for her upcoming sophomore year, but the University of Colorado student is not fazed. In fact, Caitlin Lizza has a list of activities outside the classroom that she intends to accomplish during this year. One of the things Caitlin Lizza is looking to do is to put out her annual list of favorite movies of the year.

Caitlin Lizza is a big fan of the movies, and goes to the show just about every chance she gets. But she is not a passive consumer of the motion pictures; in fact, Caitlin Lizza has strong opinions about just about all the movies she views. Things have gotten to the point where Caitlin Lizza’s friends suggest to her regularly that she think about becoming a movie critic. But Caitlin Lizza laughs at these suggestions. “I like movies, but I am not a critic. I would be a bad critic, I think. I would never know what to say except, ‘I liked it,’ ‘I didn’t like it.’”

That kind of self-deprecating attitude hides a sharp mind with some pointed opinions on the movies. Caitlin Lizza has seen a good smattering of the movies currently in theaters, and she has some favorites and some not-so-favorites. But she won’t tell. That is reserved for her annual list of movies, a list Caitlin Lizza has been putting together for several years running now. The movies list has become something that Caitlin Lizza’s friends look forward to each year. The movie of the year will be no surprise, though: Caitlin Lizza has been unable to hide her excitement about one film in particular. “This year, my favorite movie so far is The Great Gatsby, easily, hands down. Leonardo DiCaprio is great in the movie, and the whole production is so wonderful. I love it. Movie of the year in my book!”

Caitlin Lizza hopes to see all of the end-of-year Oscar contenders during the upcoming semester, if she is not too busy with her new classes. For Caitlin Lizza, class comes first, but movies come a close second.
