US Travel

Both the United States and Canada, says Evelyn Ackah, are introducing legislation that will allow customs officials to prescreen travelers who cross the border by either boat, train or bus. Air travelers are currently the only types of travelers subject to this prescreening. The hope of this legislation is expand the current system, and to work towards making it easier for more people to travel between the countries.

An Alternative Pathway

Citizen and Immigration Canada, or CIC, has recently reopened an alternative route for people to take when applying for Permanent Residence in Canada. This pathway, which is named the Immigrant Investor Venture Capital, or IIVC, stream, defines eligibility for the program as individuals who possess $10 million dollars, that which has been lawfully obtained through either investments or business. The CIC, as Evelyn Ackah knows, will stop accepting IIVC applications on April 15, 2015, or when 500 such applications have already been received.
