Senior executive Alex Heidt is no stranger to receiving awards. Indeed, in his 25 year career as a defense executive for some of America’s top defense corporations, Alex Heidt has been recognized time and time again for his outstanding contributions. Currently working for Alion Science and Technology as Senior Vice President and manager of the company’s Acquisition Programs Management Group, Alex Heidt has formerly excelled during his tenures at Harris Corporation, Lockheed Martin, Orbital Sciences Corp., and E-Systems Corp. Along the way, he has amassed an impressive collection of medals.

As far back as 1998, Alex Heidt was recognized by his then-employer, Orbital Sciences Corp., as a high achiever; they awarded him the Extra Mile Award that year. In 2002, Alex Heidt was the recipient of the President’s Award from Lockheed Martin for his services to that company, and in 2003, Lockheed bestowed upon him the prestigious MVP Award.

The MVP Award was a big milestone for Alex Heidt then, and he has gone on to surpass even that high level of performance in his continued duties as an executive and a professional. In recognition of this, Strayer University, Alex Heidt’s alma mater and the place where he earned his BSBA degree, crowned him with a new laurel when they named him an Alumni of the Year in 2012. The award is given to the alumni who have gone on to make a difference in the world through their successes, and is quite a tip of the hat.

As an Alumni of the Year, Alex Heidt will be asked to speak at the school to offer his words of wisdom for current BSBA students, and those who aspire to the heights he himself has climbed. “I have worked hard every day to be where I am today,” Alex Heidt was quoted as saying. “It feels good to be recognized for your hard work and dedication, of course, but I won’t be resting on my laurels just yet.”

Alex Heidt’s limitless ambition and talent should help propel him into the pantheon of great senior executives, and there is little doubt he will be accepting many more such awards in his future career.
