Andy Calkiewicz is a man dedicated to academics. Andy Calkiewicz received his Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree from the Rhode Island School of Design in Art History & Visual Culture. He went on to receive his Master's Degree in Art History from Columbia University. While at Colorado State, Andy Calkiewicz focused on avant garde art movements, specializing in Dadaism and Surrealism. He has published several books of commentary on the avant garde movement from various university publishers across the nation. Also, while at Columbia he worked as a teacher's assistant, and was beloved by both the professors he worked for and the students he worked with. He has since moved on to New York University here he works as a professor of Art History, with a specialization in teaching classes on Dadaism and Surrealism.

Andy Calkiewicz is also currently working on his PhD. He has finished all his on-site classroom credits at Columbia University and is currently tirelessly working on his dissertation, which is an in-depth study of the influence of Dadaism and Surrealism on modern advertising. He hopes to have it finished in the spring of 2014, and after review, receive his PhD in May 2014.

While juggling this hectic academic life, Andy Calkiewicz, with his wife, Alexandra Calkiewicz, has also brought into the world a new-born son Adam. The stresses of being a new father have certainly taken their tole on Andy Calkiewicz, but he is taking them in stride, finding great rewards in raising his own son, and while reaching his goal of becoming an amazing father, he still has not slowed down on his PhD work, still dedicating much of his time to completing his dissertation.
Andy Calkiewicz is hoping his PhD will bring him more notoriety in the academic world, and hopefully lead him to achieve tenure at New York University.
