The role of public policy and government in the everyday lives of individuals is of the utmost importance for young scholars like Aldo Salinas. Society as a whole needs more individuals who are knowledgeable about the facets of political science and how it corresponds to local, state, and federal governments. Aldo Salinas, graduate of California State University, recently received recognition for his outstanding scholastic achievements. During his undergraduate career, Aldo Salinas was awarded placement on the Dean’s List and Dean’s Honor Roll while attending Willow International Community College.

Regarding his scholastic accomplishments during his freshman and sophomore years of college, Aldo Salinas had this to say: “I have always enjoyed learning about subjects that interest me as well as improving my skills.” Throughout his undergraduate career, Aldo Salinas has demonstrated the ability to effectively balance school and work. Aldo Salinas’s collegiate beginnings at Willow International Community College provided him with the tools necessary to excel once admitted to California State University at Fresno.

Aldo Salinas’s scholastic achievements and dedication to personal and professional improvement led him to be one of a select few California university students to earn the Maddy Legislative Scholar Internship from the Kenneth L. Maddy Institute. This honor is only awarded to students that have displayed an outstanding commitment to their field and academic excellence. Regarding the receipt of this distinction, Aldo Salinas had this to say: “My internship experience was life-changing and provided me with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience.”

After eagerly accepted the internship opportunity, Aldo Salinas fulfilled the term of his internship at local Assembly Member Henry T. Perea’s district office in Fresno, California. It was during this time that Aldo Salinas received first-hand experience working with local and state governments and businesses. Aldo Salinas’s favorite part about his internship was the opportunity to attend community events and volunteer. In recognition of his outstanding performance during his internship, Aldo Salinas was granted a scholarship and formal recognition from the Kenneth L. Maddy Institute.

Currently, Aldo Salinas is establishing his professional career and plans to pursue a Master’s Degree at California State University in the future.
