Punyam Academy, a leading organisation for training on international compliance standards, organised a four-day training program on [b]Laboratory Management System Internal Audits as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017[/b], during 3rd July to 6th July 2018 at Ahmedabad.

A total of sixty three participants from testing and calibration laboratories from four states, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Delhi, were trained on laboratory management system and internal audit as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The participants included owners of the leading laboratories, internal auditors and officials from private as well as government laboratories, including Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL), which is a scientific department functioning under Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as well as defense ministry Laboratory team members .

The training program focused on creating awareness on the importance of accreditation in the testing and calibration laboratories with a global perspective, requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and Accreditation Body and their implementation, uncertainty of measurement, and requirements for internal audit. The training contents were delivered in an easy-to-understand and interactive way by Experienced NABL auditor. There was much space for the participants to share their views and learning. At the end of training program, certificates were awarded to all the participants. All the participants expressed satisfaction with the way they were trained.

The training was conducted by Mr. Shankar Subramanian, a Lead Assessor for Testing Labs, PT Provider and Reference Material Producer for NABL. He has over 45 years of experience in testing labs which includes mechanical, chemical and analytical testing.

This training program helped to build competence in the internal auditors for ensuring effective implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 and NABL requirements (Specific Guidelines). As per NABL policy for implementation of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, all the laboratories applications after 1st August 2018 must be as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
