Guilford, CT - Donna Hayden is happy to announce her fifth year of volunteering at the local school district. She began volunteering in 2008 for the Adams Middle School Band Booster Club. From 2008 to 2011 she remained at this booster club. Then in 2011 she decided to start volunteering with the Guilford High School Band Booster Club and has been volunteering there ever since.
A majority of the work that Donna Hayden has done for the Booster Clubs revolves around serving as the club's treasurer. Donna has a strong background in accounting and money management. She earned a degree in accounting from the University of Quinnipiac in Hamden, Connecticut. Not long after earning this degree she took and passed the CPA exam to become a Certified Public Accountant. She worked in this field for over twelve years and has a great deal of experience.
Volunteering as the Booster Club's treasurer allows Donna Hayden to provide expert-level management of the funds they raise. This way the club can have a stronger and better impact on the lives of students in the band.
The Booster Clubs help to raise money for the band so that they can offset lower budgets from the school itself. Donations help fund trips and events that the band members would not regularly be able to attend. Asked about why she chose the booster club, Donna Hayden replied, "I felt like my accounting skills could be very useful to an group at the school that focused on raising money. I'm very happy for all of the opportunities that the booster clubs provide for members of the school band as well."
