Princes Town, Trinidad - Bhaskar Pundit, a renowned Hindu priest from Trinidad, is pleased to announce the opening of a new Hindu temple in Orlando, Florida. Bhaskar Pundit has been serving practitioners of the Hindu religion in Trinidad and around the world for decades. He was initiated as a Hindu priest thirty-five years ago, and has remained dedicated to assisting thousands of people in their quest for a more spiritual life.

“I’m very excited about the new temple in Orlando,” said Bhaskar Pundit. “I think it’s going to provide a new option for many Hindus who have felt marginalized by the Orlando community. We’re working to establish an atmosphere where lifelong Hindus, converts, and members of the community who are interested in the Hindu religion can come together to learn and to worship.”

The new temple offers religious services every Sunday morning, as well as functions throughout the rest of the week. The temple is beautifully adorned with murtis and other statues of Hindu gods and goddesses made of marble imported from India. (Murtis are images that express a Divine Spirit in the Hindu faith. Literally, ‘Murti’ means ‘embodiment’.)

“In addition to beautiful adornments – and more importantly,” said Bhaskar Pundit, “we have wonderful people. The religious leaders, staff, and volunteers from the community at the temple are what make it so great. I’m thrilled to be a part of the worship at the Orlando temple every time I’m in town.”

In recent years, Bhaskaranand Pundit has been traveling the country and the world more frequently than ever before. In 2010, he took a religious pilgrimage to India, where he visited a variety of places, including Agra, New Delhi, Jaipur, Mathura, Mumbai, Banaras, Rameshwaram, Puri, and other locations. While on the trip, he gave freely of his time and money to the poor. He also visited a variety of temples, including Askshardham, Mandir, Lotus Temple, Vaishnu Devi Mandir, Bramha Mandir, Jaggernath Temple, Rameshwaram Mandir, and Footprints of Raam.

“I loved all of them,” said Bhaskar Pundit, “but the most memorable was Ganges. It’s a gorgeous river unlike any other in the world.”
