Chicago, Illinois -- "LOOP," the disturbing new film from Award Winning Director Kely McClung adds German composer Wolfgang Eckert to its already international team.

Eckert is creating original design elements and score that weave in and out of the 10 minute work. "I like working on such projects. Kely's movies are very intense, and the stories allow the freedom to create sounds that would find very little place in my typical musical compositions," Eckert said. "I know he'll twist and mangle the sounds even further, so it's fun find out how he actually uses them to create his final soundtrack."

Previously working on McClung's horror/thriller feature film "Altered," Wolfgang Eckert lives and works out of Nuremberg, Germany.

"Wolfgang comes from a classical background, composing everything from experimental film to ballet, and is always guided by his years of dedication to the classics," McClung said of the renowned composer. "What we come up with is very unique, but always with an ear for eliciting emotion."

Kely McClung, recently named "One of the Top 100 Indie Filmmakers in the World," in festival giant Del Weston's book by the same name. McCLung wrote, produced, and directed the short form horror/thriller outside of Chicago, IL.

McClung has directed 3 Award Winning feature films, "Blood Ties," "Kerberos," and "Altered." His only previous short film, "A.M. Session" was honored at the prestigious American Black Film Festival and sold to HBO.

Additions to the international cast and crew include Swiss make up artist Nadia Berchtold, and lead actress, Austrian born and trained Ursula Maria.

"I'm excited to expand the international flavor of our little film. We were lucky enough to get Nadia to focus her talents to create our make up designs. It's just part of the puzzle I never had to worry about executing," McClung said. "It also helped in that both Nadia and Ursula speak German as well as English. I think it allowed for the trust and bond between actress and artist to happen that much faster."

Nadia Berchtold, of Nadia B Make Up and FX, lives and works in Berlin where she is currently engaged on a German feature film.

"In the case of Ursula, playing the lead of "Lina," there are very few people, men or women that I know, who could take on such a demanding physical role," said the director. "L.A. is filled with beautiful, highly trained and talented actresses, but to be that and a trained dancer, bilingual, and an amazing athlete, is a dream for any director."

"Ursula's understanding of movement and her sheer physicality allows freedom as an artist for both of us, and let us put things on screen that would normally have to be done by an experienced stunt person. The fact that she had seen my films and wanted to work with me became a real coup for our movie. Ursula understood the script from the beginning and I think she brings something really special to the film," McCLung beamed. "It's exciting to see where her career takes her, and I'm looking forward to working with her again on upcoming projects."

Ursula Maria, was born in Austria, trained in theater, dance, and acting both in Vienna and at the famed Stella Adler in Hollywood, California. Ms. Maria lives and works out of Los Angeles as an actor, dancer, and choreographer.

"I was excited about the project as soon as I read the script. I love the relevance to what's happening in the world; it shows you that when it comes to the Internet, things can change almost instantaneously, for the better or for the worse. It's also a story about trust and betrayal, which is something everyone can relate to. I've seen Kely's previous films and was always impressed by the intensity he creates as well as his beautiful imagery and dedication to detail."

"Loop" was produced by both McClung and Chicago Producer Carmine Perrelli.

"Loop" adds another bit of fame in that it was shot in Waukegan, IL, just north of Chicago and the birthplace of the legendary science fiction author Ray Bradbury.

"I grew up reading everything I could by two authors; Edger Rice Burroughs and Ray Bradbury," the director said. "So I jumped at the chance to film in what for me is a historic town. You can easily imagine the influence of the town and area on Bradbury's work, and of course the town still honors him and his world-wide contributions to science fiction literature."

Working with city officials, store owners, and long time resident Patrick Tufo on logistics and the unique locations the script demanded, "Loop" was embraced by the entire town during its grueling two day shoot.

Currently in post production at Chicago's Digital Film Design, "Loop" is being prepped for final sound mix at Monkey Renders.

"Loop" will hit the international film festival circuit throughout 2016, before being released world-wide.
