Rainbow Reservoirs continues its work in Africa with Director: Marketing and Development, Mr Quinton Coetzee travelling to Tanzania as part of the South African Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) delegation. South Africa enjoys steady trade relations with Tanzania and the delegation was sent to build on these existing business ties. The delegation arrived at the same time that the Dar Es Salaam International Trade Fair was being hosted. The Trade Fair which took place from the 27 of June 2016 to the 8th of July 2016, has given South African industry leaders the opportunity to introduce and promote their products to the Tanzanian market.

Under the leadership of Mr Coetzee, Rainbow Reservoirs proudly joined the delegation and later exhibited Rainbow Reservoirs water storage tanks at the South African Pavilion at the Trade Fair. “We are investigating the contribution we can make in the provision of water storage solutions to Tanzania”.

While the delegation has a purpose to fulfil, the Trade Fair is an equally important event and is largely focused on how trade can be improved between Tanzania and its external markets although the organisers also place focus on internal trade.

Tanzania is a fast developing nation and Mr Mzandile Masina, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry said that this mission to the nation is exceptionally important as Tanzania is experiencing fast-paced economic growth which is being pushed by the construction and information and communication industries, both of which have experienced incredible leaps in growth in the past decade.

And Rainbow Reservoirs has an important role to play in this growth, with water storage tanks helping with the growth of industries directly, and economic growth indirectly, around the country. This will, in turn, allow Rainbow Reservoirs to expand valuable services into other regions. With Tanzania being South Africa’s 12th biggest trading partner, being part of the growth in Tanzanian industries is an opportunity for all involved.

Of the delegation's visit to Tanzania, Mr Mzandile Masina said, “It is our objective that this exercise will solidify our strategic partnership and pave the way for our business community to partner with Tanzania in establishing infrastructures such as roads, ports, renewable energy, and mines.”

South Africa was proud to receive a top honour at the Trade Fair. The spectacular exhibits, stand construction and innovative design of the South African Pavilion at the Trade Fair, resulted in South Africa being unanimously awarded the trophy for Best Foreign Country Exhibitor at the 40th Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair.
