In this closing series of the project, Ms. Marina Fedorova oftentimes jettisons minor details and even main characters in favour of more abstract visions which create a mesmerising effect, carrying the viewer away to an endless metaphysical space of zero gravity, otherworldly landscapes, enveloping nebulae, and free flight.
Here, colour is the main method for achieving visual depth: the Artist uses various shades of blue, black, violet, and red. These paintings are free from any narratives: the visions of environmental disaster or misguided technological progress along with cautionary tales recede into the background. The Artist doesn’t seem to care how her heroines ended up in the open space and how they manage to survive in these extraterrestrial circumstances.
She populates the free and endless space with female figures – full of grace, delicate, and vulnerable, and yet possessing an inner force that swiftly adapts them to any environment.
‘In my artistic universe, a woman symbolises purity and true harmony, the perfect world order, while the outer space represents the brave new world whose beauty entices and inspires,’ explains Ms. Marina Fedorova.
