Research chemicals are chemicals that are only meant for use in research and scientific purposes. Usage of these chemicals ranges from laboratory research use to Pharmaceutical use.

Research chemicals are chemicals that are only meant for use in research and scientific purposes. Usage of these chemicals ranges from laboratory research use to Pharmaceutical use. Today, these chemicals play a major role in the development of new medications. Some of the medicines developed from research chemicals are being used to treat sleep-disorder, muscular dysfunction, neuropathic pain and many more disease. Depending on the effects on the human body, Research Chemicals are categorized into:

Stimulant

Stimulants are a class of drug that increases the activity of the central nervous system and body, ultimately enhancing brain and body performance. These drugs work by making the body to release natural chemicals like dopamine. Its effects include an increase in alertness and focus and mood elevation. Today, prescription stimulants are medicines generally used to treat attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), obesity and narcolepsy—uncontrollable episodes of deep sleep. One such drug is bk-ebdp (Ephylone), which is a designer recreation of Amphetamines. Amphetamines are currently used as a treatment for ADHD and obesity. 4-CL-PHP Crystal, 4F-PHP Crystal and A-PPP, are similar to A-PVP, are some more available stimulants.

Cannabinoid

Cannabinoids are a class of drug found in cannabis plant and are considered important chemical compound for its medical and recreational properties. These chemical compounds mimic naturally occurring compounds produced by our bodies, called endocannabinoids. When cannabinoid is consumed it binds itself to receptor sites throughout our brain and keeps endocannabinoids from reaching the receptors. This ultimately leads to an alteration in the performance of various human body functions: appetite, reproduction, motor behaviour and many more. Cannabinoids are used to treat certain types of nausea, spasticity and neuropathic pain. Some cannabinoids are known to increase brain abilities by improving cognitive function, memory and creativity. MMB-2201 has been sold as the smart drug in numerous countries which enhances brain abilities. EG-018, ADBCHMINACA Crystal and MMB-Chimnacais are agonists of CB1 and/or CB2 receptors which has a potential of being used to treat neuropathic pain and nausea.

Sedatives

Sedatives are chemicals which induce relaxation or even sleepiness by decreasing brain and central nervous system activity. Sedatives are commonly used to treat mild/infrequent insomnia, anxiety and depression. Most of the sedatives work by affecting the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) - performs communication between brain cells. Sedatives increase GABA activity which in result induces relaxation effect. Etizolam is a benzodiazepine analogue and is used to treat short-term insomnia and short-term anxiety. Diclazepam is another effective sedative which produces effects such as muscle relaxing, anxiety suppression and disinhibition. Flubromazepam is readily used as a painkiller in form of Valium or Xanax.

Empathogens

Empathogens are psychoactive chemicals/drugs that induce emotional experiences of sympathy, empathy and relatedness. Drugs of this category make the user feel emotionally communion, related to society and open for emotional attachment. Empathogens work by oxytocin activation which makes the user open to talking and physically energetic. Diethylone crystal, 5-Methylethylone and Bkepqe Crystal, are similar to Ethylone, are research empathogens having a potential to be used to induce motivation and focus. Thirtylone Crystal is analogue of Methylone which is used to treat pain and swelling in joint disorders.

Dissociatives

Dissociative, also known as hallucinogen, produces senses distortions and gives user sense of floating and dissociation. They work by disrupting certain brain receptors and nerve cells throughout the brain-blocking signals to the conscious brain. Depending on the intake of the drug, it can further cause memory loss, numbness, physical distress and anxiety. Deschloroketamine (Phencyclidine) has a potential of being used as a treatment for certain mental disorder. Phencyclidine induces mind-altering effects leading to distortion of senses.
