Solid wood panels are ideal for your work area. It is a very stable, hard and resilient natural resource and now a real alternative to domestic hardwoods.

Here in the following, we will learn about the difference between solid parkett bambus and engineered industrieparkett.

Solid parquet:

The solid parquet consists of the same noble wood species (oak, beech, mahogany, etc.), chosen according to its hardness, rigidity, color, but also its resistance to humidity.

Its blade is between 10 and 24 millimeters thick.

It can be sold raw or pre-sanded, but the solid parquet is most often varnished, waxed, oiled, brushed, tinted or aged.

Engineered parquet:

The engineered parquet consists of 2 or 3 layers of different woods:

The facing or wear layer, that is to say, the visible part of the floor is noble wood. It offers the same appearance as solid parquet. It is 2 to 6 millimeters thick. The 2 millimeters is a minimum for pre-sanded, varnished or oiled engineered parquet boards in the factory, but it takes at least 2.5 millimeters for the rough blades. The life of the laminated parquet depends on the thickness of the siding.

The soul is the part on which the siding of the laminated parquet is based if it is composed of 3 layers. This flexible layer absorbs the tensions of the parquet and ensures its stability.

The counter-siding may consist of strips of wood, plywood, agglomerates or HDF (high-density fibers).

Solid or laminated parquet: pros and cons of solid parquet.

If the solid parquet multiplies the advantages, it has, however, some disadvantages, starting with its price.

Its advantages are:

- It offers an inimitable seal.
- It comes in many species.
- It is the most solid of all the floors.
- It offers good sound and thermal insulation.
- Its thickness allows for many sanding and renovations.

Solid or laminated parquet: pros and cons of engineered parquet:

Alternative cheaper than solid flooring, laminated flooring has both advantages and disadvantages, which must be taken into account before purchase.

The advantages of the laminate parquet are:

- The appearance of the engineered massivholzplatte is similar to that of the solid parquet, but its cost is less.
- The siding of the parquet flooring is declined in many species of wood and colors.
- It may have wider and longer blades.
- The laminated parquet offers good hold on a heated floor.

The disadvantages of laminated parquet are:

- Bambusparkett is less resistant in time than solid parquet;
- It renovates badly and can only withstand a limited number of sanding (determined by the thickness of the facing).
