Pre schooling is based on the concept of introducing the kid to education while it has fun by playing games. This plays very vital time in children’s formative years as they tend to learn quickly if they are allowed to learn while playing rather than pushing them through books. Generally kids tend to move away if they found it to be boring for them. So curriculum for the pre schooling is more based on educating them while they still playing games. Play school in Kilpauk keeps this in mind and have designed their curriculum for the play school based on it.
Tools that are used in pre-school to aid the teachers
There are lots of tools used in the pre schooling compared to the formal schooling. There will be no or less number of books used as in that age kids tend to remember through picture representation more easily. This is the reason why they use lot of pictures of fruits, numbers, and animals among other. They also use videos which play rhymes through which numbers and alphabets can be easily taught to kids. Also there are more number of educational toys for the age group available both in the online and traditional stores. Those can be used to make kids play with them and learn from them.
Normally admissions for the play school happens during the academic year starting around June, they do conduct special admission programs during the month of October as parents prepare to put up their wards in school during saraswathi pooja. They accept kids from the age of 3 to 5 in the play schools. Play schools are considered to be the stepping stone to the general education which will follow a year or two after pre schooling. Though it is not compulsory to complete the play school before more formal education, most of the parents prefer to send their kids to play school, so they will be in good position to learn formal education once they start the schooling. Thought it is long debated what can be part of curriculum of the pre schooling, there are various curriculum followed by the pre schools across India. There are normally no general guidelines given by the authorities regarding the same.
