Bereits in der letzten Nacht haben sich die Gerüchte rund um das LG G3 durch einen Leak der niederländischen Niederlassung bestätigt. Nun wurde das Android-Smartphone in London offiziell vorgestellt. Eines der großen Highlights dürfte das Aluminium-Gehäuse sein, welches eine ähnliche Designsprache trägt wie das bisherige LG G2. Außerdem kommt das G3 mit einem 5,5 Zoll großen Quad-HD-Display - also mit einer Auflösung von 2.560 x 1.440 Pixel und IPS-Technik. Daraus resultiert eine Pixeldichte von 538 ppi. Hinzu kommt eine 13 Megapixel Kamera mit OIS+, 4K Video-Aufnahme und Laserfokus sowie eine Frontkamera mit 2,1 Megapixel. Im Inneren sorgt ein Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 (2,5 GHz) Quad-Core Prozessor mit der integrierten Adreno 330 und 2 GB Arbeitsspeicher für den Antrieb.

Somit zerplatzen vorerst die Träume von 3 GB RAM und dem neuen Snapdragon 805 Chip, obwohl in den technischen Daten der deutschen Pressemeldung auch von 3 GB die Rede ist. Allerdings gibt es den Hinweis, dass die technischen Daten von Land zu Land unterschiedlich sein können. Dafür ist die kabellose Auflademöglichkeit via Wireless Charging mit an Bord. Hinzu kommen 1 Watt Lautsprecher mit verbessertem Bass, der Knock Code zum Aufwecken, Entsperren und für Shortcuts ist wieder mit von der Partie und an der Software und der angepassten Google Android 4.4.2 KitKat Oberfläche hat man weiter gefeilt. Ebenso können sich Fans über ein Cover als Zubehör freuen, welches mit einem kleinen Fenster ausgestattet ist, das wichtige Informationen in so genannte Quick Circle Apps steckt. Weiterhin sind natürlich essentielle Features wie UMTS, LTE, NFC, WLAN-ac, MicroUSB-Anschluss und 16 bzw. 32 GB Flash-Speicher mit an Bord. Letzterer kann mit Hilfe einer bis zu 128 GB großen MicroSD-Karte erweitert werden. Die Akkukapazität beträgt 3.000 mAh und die Batterie ist austauschbar.

Nur ist in nächster Zeit nicht mit der Umsetzung der Pläne zu rechnen und falls doch, dann dürfte das Google WLAN zunächst als Pilotprojekt in den USA aufgebaut werden, bis es irgendwann mal nach Europa kommt. Zumal die Sache einen Nachteil hat: Ruckus Wireless soll Google bei seinem Projekt auf technischer Seite unterstützen, da deren Netzwerk-Hardware für solche Vorhaben ausgelegt ist. Und das könnte mögliche Partner im Einzelhandel abschrecken, da sie sich zuerst neue und vor allem kompatible Netzwerktechnik besorgen müssten.Durch diesen kleinen Fehler des niederländischen Tochter-Unternehmens ist so einiges bestätigt worden was das LG G3 auszeichnet. Aber auch einige neue Funktionen des Smartphones sind auf diesen Weg bekannt geworden, sodass LG für heute Abend 19 Uhr kaum noch etwas wirklich Neues vorstellen kann.
