A couple is showered with lots of love and blessings on their D-day. All these blessings may either be abstract or materialistic, wrapped in colourful covers.

So, it's one of your old, school friend's wedding and you are just so confused as to what to gift him?

Well! You may have a lots of ideas oozing out of your mind but do you know that some gifts that actually seem to be a good choice may actually not please the couple. And that's because, these gifts are not considered to be worth gifting due to various superstitions related to them! Let's have a look at the topmost gifts to be avoided.

Judgemental gifts:

You would obviously not mean to hurt your friend's sentiments. You may simply pick up a relationship advice book or a set of cutesy baby clothes to convey your best wishes but such gifts may seem judgmental or assuming about the couple’s future. So, it's better to avoid any such gifts or else you'll end up upsetting the couple (unintentionally).

Cutting edge objects:

Your friend may be fond of those antique, designer knives from different parts of the world but his D-day is not the right occasion to gift him one. That's due to an age old belief prevailing in Europe, Asia and South America, that anything with a sharp end is said have the ability to damage a relationship. These antique beauties like knives or even simple cutting edge objects like blade sets, scissors etc. may actually indicate a turmoil in a marriage.

Artwork or home decor:

There's no harm in gifting a gorgeous piece of art to be displayed on your friend's new home unless you know the couple’s tastes well. There's no use spending your money on something that you consider a 'beauty' but your friend and his better half don't consider worth making a part of their home decor.

Mirrors:

There's a common belief regarding mirrors that they cause misfortune if broken. You obviously do not want to take a chance, right? Since you would want to wish them a marriage that remains forever and not something that symbolizes selfishness and vanity, so, it's better to stay away from mirrors.

Honeymoon excursion:

Unless you are aware of the couple's honeymoon plans, you shouldn't go on presenting them a honeymoon excursion of your choice. It would rather be a bothersome trip where they are bound to do something that you've planned. Leave it up to the lovebirds to choose their own honeymoon location and plan it their way.

Now that you know what all you should not be gifting your buddy, choose something that'll actually bring fortune to the couple's married life.
