As an archipelago, Indonesia has to face challenges in IT development such as digital gap, uneven access to communication infrastructures, and lack of skills. The gap is obviously present when comparing communication access in western and eastern Indonesia. Omoco, a network solution from Micro Telecom Mobile, offers IT stakeholders solutions to empower remote areas of Indonesia. World Economic Forum reports show that IT plays important role in improving and
strengthening socio-economic development in a country. A study conducted by the International Telecommunications Union showed that for every 10% improvement in broadband penetration is translated into higher GDP value by 1.21 to 1.38%. Omoco fully realizes geographical constraints encountered by many Indonesians in remote areas to access IT infrastructures. “At Omoco, we realize many constraints Indonesians are facing today especially in remote and isolated areas to access communication and information technology. Therefore, we are glad to present Omoco in Indonesia and ready to discuss with stakeholders in this field,”said Karun Kapil, Director Business Development, SEA & Oceania, Omoco.
