2016 | Mumbai, India: Dr. Debraj Shome was invited to the Annual Conference of the Ocular Trauma Society of India (OTSI) held on 3rd and 4th of September, 2016 as an esteemed Faculty; to conduct video assisted skill transfer courses on orbital floor fractures and deliver multiple lectures on the management of complex facial fractures.

He also discussed techniques to manage the complex facial fractures in a second course. These skill transfer course play a critical role for doctors to understand the complexities and advances in medical case management from their more experienced colleagues. The doctor’s training was given on the second day of the course during the morning session on Changing Trends in the Management of Orbito-Facial Trauma.

Dr. Debraj Shome was also a part of a lively discussion on Orbital Floor Fracture Repair: Autologous Bone Graft vs. Alloplastic Implants at OPAI 2016 conference recently. He had also been invited to the Korean College of Cosmetic Surgery (KCCS) as a faculty for the International Facial Lipoplasty Workshop “SAFI” held from 31st August to 2nd September 2016 in Seoul, South Korea.

Dr. Shome has undergone fellowships in oculoplastic surgery, facial plastic surgery, head and neck surgery, maxilla-facial surgery and more. He is also one of the most sought after plastic and cosmetic surgeons in the world due to his expertise and experience in various sub-specialities in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. He is frequently invited to seminars, workshops and conferences all around the world.

Dr. Shome has published over 40 research papers in the international journals and co-authored many chapters in academic books.
