Already operating in selected areas of Los Angeles, DJ Mentor Program has now expanded into the New York market and continues to fill a gap in the DJ industry which was identified by international DJ and founder, Michelle Ericsson. Michelle says, “I started to realize that there was not enough support available for the new DJ in the music industry. Thinking back to when I first started DJ’ing, I didn’t have anyone to turn to, no one to ask all those questions a beginner naturally has. Sometimes it’s just the little things, but they matter so much and are so important, especially when you are just starting out.” Michelle found that although there are teachers who can teach you how to DJ, it’s where to go from there that she says has new DJ’s in a conundrum.
This is exactly why DJ Mentor Program launched “Ask a Mentor”; a free tool that allows any DJ or aspiring DJ to ask any DJ related to question to a mentor and have it answered, via video. Michelle says, “With the ‘Ask A Mentor’ feature we truly want to be a place that DJ’s can come to when they need advice, help or mentoring.”
