Weather resistance
Temperature, humidity and UV exposure can affect the performance and appearance of plastic molds. The end use of the product determines the type of weatherability required. In addition, the increase in heat on the dark surface of the sun may raise the upper.
The temperature requirements are much higher than the highest expected temperature. Conversely, if your mold is only occasionally exposed to weather, your requirements may be less demanding. For example, outdoor Christmas decorations and other seasonal products may only need to meet specific, limited exposure requirements.

Radiation from various artificial light sources, such as fluorescent lamps, high-intensity discharge lamps, and gamma-disinfectors, can cause many plastics to turn yellow and/or degrade. If your mold is exposed to a source of radiation, consider painting it or designing a UV-stabilized resin.

Styling considerations may determine the shape, appearance, and feel of the product, especially if the product is part of a component system or an existing product line.
