Plano, TX, 2016 – With an estimated third of the American population considered obese, researchers are working hard to find options to help people safely and effectively shed pounds. While weight loss surgery can assist many with a long-term solution, the option isn’t open to those who are not considered severely obese in many cases. A relatively new breakthrough may soon provide the help people who struggle with weight need to shed pounds and keep them off. What’s making this option so especially attractive is that it is simple, largely non-invasive and is showing tremendous results.

That has sparked a number of small-scale studies to further explore the possible use of this process for helping people shed pounds. Initial studies have shown that patients treated with this procedure can lose about 6 percent of their excess weight in the first month. A 13 percent average loss was noted six months out.
