Nicholas Exar, an expert in environmental science, has been an active and passionate member of the National Environmental Health Association for the majority of his half-century long career. Holding a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, and Psychology, and a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Nicholas Exar has spent the majority of his life with one sole mission: to ensure the safety and health of his community through hard work and application of science.

Similar in goals, the National Environmental Health Association’s purpose is to provide: training and education, advocacy, credentialing, and organization capacity within the field of environmental health. Nicholas Exar has enjoyed membership with the National Environmental Health Association after his first venture into environmental science. The National Environmental Health Association began in 1937, well before Nicholas Exar had ever entered high school. Though he did not know it then, Nicholas Exar would grow to benefit from his membership with the National Environmental Health Association once immersed in his profession. As an active member, he was able to take part in events and network with fellow professionals while building a reputable and important niche in the field of science.

Nicholas Exar is a pioneer in his field. His beginnings in Pennsylvania led him to pursue higher education and excel in his career in environmental science. Nicholas Exar later entered the field of public health, where he would combine his unique experiences and one-of-a-kind problem solving skills to help implement community programs and save lives. A dedicated family man, although Nicholas Exar would take short breaks to spend time with family, he was always able to keep track of current events in the environmental science field. “I loved the ability to stay in tune with what was going on and having the option to be a part of it as a member,” says Nicholas Exar.

Today, Nicholas Exar is no longer an active member of the National Environmental Health Association, but he continues to enjoy consulting in the field of environmental science. A leader himself, Nicholas Exar also continues to demonstrate the qualities that the National Environmental Health Association treasures. Nicholas Exar’s qualities include: intelligence, integrity, dedication, and caring for the health of others.
