One of the most renowned tourist regions of Nepal, the Everest is known all over the world for its incredible mountain summits & the panoramas on the hills. Most of your traveling will be through ridges & trails, but you’d have adequate space to rest & have meals on your way to the Everest Base Camp trek. The people you will find during your trek are very friendly and like to help even strangers. The folks who reside in this region are mostly shepherds and understand a little English.

You can trek the Everest base camp throughout the year: however the most ideal time for trekking will be between March to mid-May and between Septembers to Mid-November. A lot of people don’t like touring here in the winter season as the climate remains pretty cold & snow all through the area make trekking a difficult experience. In such difficult conditions, it’d be impossible to reach the higher altitudes of Everest. During the winter you may even find the lodges being closed and it’d be difficult to find an accommodation during the night. So, you better avoid this season.

During the summer, the climate remains wet & the peaks are lost in the clouds. Hence, April & May might just prove an ideal time to go around this place. You can relish the tree & shrubs blossoming in this season, with Rhododendrons in particular. This adds an exceptional color & beauty to the surrounding. However the views are much better if you plan a post monsoon hike than a pre monsoon trek because the rain & wind clear the dust which blows from the land.

The preparation prior to trekking to this area must be adequate. Apart from some of the few obligatory items such as hiking boots, warm clothes, UV sun-block etc, there’re a lot of other things that you have to carry on your way ahead. A lot of stuff that you might not have considered taking along are mentioned here; these things may seem unnecessary at first but would enhance your trekking experience once you start your trek.
