As per the latest kind of Nigeria university news, it has now been reported that the Nigerian Polytechnics has made the announcement that it has listed 17 different types of courses which can no longer be studied by any of the students in their polytechnics study system because it has discontinued it. As per the latest developments concerning this news, it is said that the federal government of the country has decided to actually scrap their usual award of the diploma for the higher national education system. Once this newly introduced policy manages to take its effect, people will no longer be able to study the HND certificate system in the polytechnics which span over 17 different types of courses. It can also be recalled that the country’s minister of education who is none other than the professor Adamu Adamu, has made the assertion that any given program which is not at all technical will henceforth be scrapped from the system of polytechnics. This announcement has been made by the minister of education when he was speaking to the journalists concerning the new kind of development. As per the reports, the minister was quoted as saying that about 70 per cent of the graduates from polytechnic is actually involved in the courses of the non technical system. It is therefore noted as a program that would need a lot of rigorous implementation. The 17 courses in the list includes the likes of cooperative management and economics, tourism and leisure management, fishery, eco tourism and wild life, dietetics and nutrition, marketing, insurance, rural and home economics, fine arts, estate management, public administration, hospitality management, accounting, secretariat studies, finance and banking, and business administration.
