The opening ceremony, schedule to take place on January 10, 2020 will mark the third edition of the Winter Youth Olympic Games. More than 1000 young athletes from over 70 nations will compete in 81 events around the city of Lausanne.

During the official unveiling of the clock, Mr. Aeschliman said; “OMEGA is truly looking forward to Lausanne 2020. To be in this special location to serve the best young athletes in the world will be a great privilege. Known as the Olympic capital, Lausanne is home to modern Olympic movement for the past 100 years and houses IOC headquarters and the Olympic museum. Lausanne 2020 will truly depict the homecoming for multi-sport event, representing the first Olympic game to be held in Switzerland.
