Bangalore, December 9, 2020: EdTech is going through a massive upswing with more and more parents warming up to the idea of introducing online learning to their children. However, there is hardly any EdTech platform apart from Kyt that is singularly dedicated to extracurricular learning for children. At Kyt, the focus is entirely on ensuring that children don’t miss out on the goodness of non-academic pedagogy.

Founded in June of 2020 by Bhavik Rathod and Tripti Rathod, Kyt provides a world-class online learning experience through educators that are powered by modern technology. Backed by scientific understanding, it boasts of an interactive curriculum as well. So far, over 1,000 students (aged between 5 and 15 years) have taken a 12-week course or attended workshops with Kyt. And these young students hail from diverse geographies like India, Singapore, UAE, Australia, UK and USA — united by live sessions on their respective screens.

What also sets Kyt apart from the rest of the EdTech players is its emphasis on feedback and revision. When a child opts for a course — be it Vocals, Dance, Yoga, or English Reading — they not only get access to live sessions to learn from, but also gain access to a library of animated and engaging revision content, where they can watch Kyt’s star faculty — including the likes of Chess grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi, Bollywood choreographer Ruel Virandani, educator Narda Pitkethly, musical duo Kamakshi-Vishala and kids Yoga expert Sabrina Merchant — explain what they have just learned.

From revising asanas in Yoga, to breaking down the steps in Hip-Hop, or even explaining complex concepts in Music or English, a young student will constantly be in sync with the taught course curriculum and continue to improve their skills with practice. This student-centric approach has been noted as one of Kyt’s many USPs by the participating parents.

Such single-minded dedication to extracurricular learning played a key role in Kyt raising $2.5 million in funding from Sequoia Capital India's Surge, a bi-annual rapid scale-up programme. Kyt is one of the 17 startups selected in the fourth cohort of Surge and is hailed as a promising player in the EdTech space.

In the near future, the company plans to increase its teacher base to 500 and add more non-academic courses, while introducing varied workshops. In other words, Kyt aims to be a one-point destination for extracurricular learning for kids across the globe.
