Michael Tsoukas was given an excellence in medical training award for his outstanding work in teaching medical students on site.

Michael Tsoukas loves being able to share his knowledge on a subject with others in his career field. Being a doctor, the experience and knowledge that Michael Tsoukas has gained can be of great help to others who have not had the exposure or have not been in a clinical setting for as long as he has. You can clearly see the passion for teaching that Michael Tsoukas has whenever you are around him, seeing as he is easy to talk to and patient with students who are trying to learn. Michael Tsoukas was recently awarded the Excellence in Medical Teaching Award by his Internal Medicine residency program.

Michael Tsoukas enjoys academic teaching to medical students. Once a medical student himself, Michael Tsoukas knows that this is an important goal that must be properly fulfilled, and that the things he teaches the students will remain with them throughout the rest of their career. Michael Tsoukas takes this action very seriously, and teaches the medical students in a way that they are comfortable in asking questions and being sure they understand everything completely before they become practicing doctors themselves. Michael Tsoukas teaches his students in a tertiary hospital setting. Michael Tsoukas believes that in order to fully understand the concepts and ideas that he is teaching, his students need to be able to actually see and interact with patients, the procedures, and get a hands on experience in an actual hospital.

“I’ve always been attracted to being a leader and a teacher. When I was a medical student, the people that taught and trained me were fantastic and helped a great deal with my clinical experience and basic knowledge. I am just trying to do the same for my students. If I can clear up any confusion, or further their knowledge about basic sciences or clinical skills, then my job is done,” Michael Tsoukas said about being an academic teacher to medical students.

Michael Tsoukas enjoys knowing that what he is doing is having an impact on the younger medical students. Being able to teach and be a role model is a great feeling for Michael Tsoukas. Michael Tsoukas plans on being able to share his knowledge of the medical field to students for many more years to come.
