Buying insulin syringes may prove trickier than it once did. Unhealthy habits and inappropriate uses of needles have led to the development of regulations regarding purchases. While many states allow for syringe purchase sans prescription, some impose limits.

Restrictions come in the form of quantity and age. For instance, several states restrict a syringe purchase to ten or less without a prescription including Connecticut, Maine, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York and New Hampshire. These restrictions may prove annoying, frustrating and inconvenient to those people with a legitimate need. But, one, be aware that several means of purchasing syringes without limits still exist. And, two, it is important to keep in mind that the protection of the consumer remains the highest priority.
