Understanding Your Sleep Cycle

Have you ever ceased to consider that fully 1/3 of your life is spent asleep? Indeed, sleep requires a longer period each day than any other action. To understand the value of sleep quality score, we have to understand the sleep cycles stages.

To understand the sleep cycle stages, it is important to be familiar with the ways in which researchers look at the sleep cycle. The first statistic is taken with an electroencephalogram, or EEG. The EEG actions the mind surf as you are sleeping. Each stage is described as a different pattern of mind surf. The next statistic is of the muscle mass, which is taken with an electromyogram, or EMG. This actions the effect that different sleep cycle stages have on the muscles.

Stage 1

The first stage sleep happens when you first go to bed. You enter a soothing condition in which you are mostly sleeping, but are still easy to awaken. Your eyes will edge as you move in a semiconscious condition. Sometimes sleepers will experience "sleep starts" where unexpected contractions of the muscle tissue, known as myoclonic jackasses, cause a feeling of dropping. As you move into sleep your mind surf gradually even further than while soothing, moving into a less quickly regularity, greater plenitude trend known as a Theta trend.

Stage 2

Stage 2 sleep is further than stage 1. Your eyes stop moving and your mind surf gradually down. Periodic jolts of fast mind action known as sleep spindles and times of greater trend plenitude known as K buildings are common of stage 2 sleep. Most of the mind surf are Theta surf in stage 2 sleep. Like stage 1 sleep, stage 2 sleep does not last more than a couple of minutes.

Stage 3

As you move further into sleep your mind will settle into a gradually pattern with a great plenitude known as Delta surf. This is the beginning of strong sleep. Your body is soothing, your eyes is still, and you are greatly sleeping. In stage 3 sleep just under 50% of your mind surf are Delta surf, with rises of greater action in between the less noisy times.

Stage 4

Much like stage 3, this stage is described as Delta trend mind action. Over 50% of your mind surf are Delta surf, but occasional jolts of greater action still happen. It is very difficult to promote a person from stage 4 sleep. Remarkably, it is during stage 4 sleep that most cases of sleepwalking, evening risks, and even bedwetting happen.
