Google launches an open source platform which is intended to allow companies to create applications in the cloud and run them on their own or through third-party data centers.

Anthos, Google´s most recent creation is an open-source platform preconceived to speed up multi-cloud adoption for businesses; it will help apps run successfully in the cloud through third-party data centers or on-premises. We know that companies all around the world use multiple cloud platforms to boost their workload, which ends up in them spending a lot on cloud resources to manage their apps and many times these results in the waste of many other resources that go undiscovered. With Anthos which is based on Google´s Kubernetes, companies will be able to create all kinds of applications in the cloud and then simply run them through the data center of their choice. Many claim that this strategy will consolidate all cloud platforms under Google enterprise giving them a competitive edge in the market, but in other for Google to make all of this possible they had to partner up with more than 30 entities.

Anthos ultimately aims to change the discourse around the cloud-native ecosystem. Google’s hybrid multi-cloud offering can translate into a multimillion-dollar opportunity for system integrators and service provides, right from small startups and local players to multi-national corporations. Anthos has the potential to unleash a wave capable of redefining the cloud-native ecosystems that many market players, irrespective of their size and standing, will seek to ride. If everything goes as plan, Google´s Anthos will soon become as the preferred platform for running businesses workloads.
