Formula 1, the biggest motor racing championship in the world, remains a highly anticipated sport. Since its beginning in 1950, Formula 1 has brought forward a new season each year, with races across multiple circuits and countries. The year 2022 marks the 73rd season of Formula 1, and the championship has 22 races lined up across 20 countries. The F1 calendar has ticked off 9 races of the season, across 9 countries, all of which came to an exciting close. With the end of the Formula 1 Canadian GP of 2022, there remain 13 races in the season. The official calendar for F1 2022 with its race schedule for the whole season, has been officially announced.


F1 2022 Calendar
The 73rd season of Formula 1 began with its testing races in February 2022. In March, the first round of the season’s race took place in Bahrain. All the Grand Prix races of the season are being conducted in the standard format of Formula 1 racing, which is, 3 practice rounds, followed by a qualifying round, followed by the final race of the region. For all circuits, these rounds are distributed over three days - the first two practice rounds on the first day, next two practice rounds on the second day and the final race on the third day. F1 2022 Test Races

● Test Race 1 - Spain - 23 to 25 February
The first test race of the season was conducted in Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The test round was distributed over three races conducted on three days - 23, 24, and 25 February.

● Test Race 2 - Bahrain - 10 to 12 March
The second test race of the season was conducted on the Bahrain International Circuit. This test round also had three races distributed over three days - 10, 11, and 12 March.

F1 2022 Grand Prix Races

1. Bahrain Grand Prix - 18 to 20 March
The first race of this season’s F1 racing schedule was the Bahrain GP, conducted on the Bahrain International Circuit.

2. Saudi Arabian Grand Prix - 25 to 27 March
The Saudi Arabian GP was the next race on the F1 2022 calendar. It was conducted on the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

3. Australian Grand Prix - 8 to 10 March
The Australian Grand Prix, the third race on the calendar, was conducted on the Albert Park Circuit.

4. Emilia Romagna Grand Prix (Italy) - 22 to 24 April
The Emilia Romagna GP, the fourth race on the F1 calendar, was the first F1 race of the year in Italy. It was conducted on the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari, also known as the Imola Circuit.

5. Miami Grand Prix (United States) - 6 to 8 May
The Miami GP was the fifth race on the F1 calendar and the first F1 race of 2022 in the USA. It was conducted at the Miami International Autodrome, a circuit which made its debut this year with the 2022 Formula 1 GP.

6. Spanish Grand Prix - 20 to 22 May
The Spanish GP, the sixth race on the calendar, was conducted in Spain’s Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.

7. Monaco Grand Prix - 27 to 29 May
The next race on the F1 calendar was the Monaco GP, which was conducted at Circuit de Monaco.

8. Azerbaijan Grand Prix - 10 to 12 June
The Azerbaijan GP, the eighth race of Formula 1 2022, was conducted at Azerbaijan’s Baku City Circuit.

9. Canadian Grand Prix - 17 to 19 June
The ninth race of this year’s Formula 1, was the Canadian GP, conducted at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve.

10. British Grand Prix - 1 to 3 July
The British Grand Prix is the tenth race in this F1 season and will be held at the Silverstone Circuit.

11. Austrian Grand Prix - 8 to 10 July
The Austrian GP, the eleventh race on the F1 2022 calendar, will be held at the Red Bull Racing Circuit of Austria.

12. French Grand Prix - 22 to 24 July
The French GP, the next race on the calendar, will be conducted at France’s Circuit Paul Ricard.

13. Hungarian Grand Prix - 29 to 31 July
The Hungarian GP is the thirteenth race on the F1 2022 calendar. It will be conducted at Hungary’s Hungaroring circuit.

14. Belgian Grand Prix - 26 to 28 August
The Belgian GP, the next race in the F1 2022 season will be conducted at Belgium’s Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, which is popularly called ‘Spa’.

15. Dutch Grand Prix - 2 to 4 September
The Dutch GP is the fifteenth race of the season and will be conducted at the Circuit Zandvoort of the Netherlands.

16. Italian Grand Prix - 9 to 11 September
The Italian GP, which is to be conducted after the Dutch GP, is the second F1 race of this season in Italy. This race will be conducted at the Monza Circuit (Autodromo Nazionale Monza).

17. Singapore Grand Prix - 30 September to 2 October
The Singapore GP is the seventeenth race in the season. It will be conducted at the Marina Bay Street Circuit of Singapore.

18. Japanese Grand Prix - 7 to 9 October
The Japanese GP, the next race of the season, will be conducted at the Suzuka International Racing Course of Japan.

19. United States Grand Prix (Texas) - 21 to 23 October
The United States GP is the second F1 race of the season which is being conducted in the USA. This race will be conducted at the Circuit of The Americas in Texas, USA.

20. Mexico City Grand Prix - 28 to 30 October
The Mexico City GP is the next on the calendar and is going to be held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez.

21. São Paulo Grand Prix (Brazil) - 11 to 13 November
The São Paulo GP is the twenty-first race on the 2022 F1 calendar and is going to be conducted at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in Brazil.

22. Abu Dhabi Grand Prix - 18 to 20 November
The F1 2022 season will close with the Abu Dhabi GP, which is the twenty-second and final race of the season. It will be conducted at the Yas Marina Circuit.
