CLEARWATER, Fla. – In advance of Thanksgiving and this season’s holidays, the Scientology Volunteer Ministers of Florida are inviting those looking to avoid holiday-induced stress to their center in downtown Clearwater. The center is located at 101 N. Fort Harrison and is open daily.

“Per the US Department of Health and Human Services, stress can be decreased by planning ahead and preparing for stressful situations,” said Daira Moreno, the Executive Director of the Volunteer Ministers of Florida. “The holidays bring a reported 49% increase in anxiety, a 41% increase in depression and 64% increase in feelings of financial stress. The time to do something to prepare yourself for the holidays is now.”

Visitors to the Volunteer Ministers Center are invited to take part in free seminars and courses that will help them navigate the holidays.

“Some of the topics covered include the basics of organization, helping children and even how to deal with that one relative who is all doom and gloom and seems to bring everyone else down,” said Ms. Moreno.

The seminars and courses are from the chapters in the Scientology Handbook, based on the works of humanitarian and Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard.


“It was a wonderful course—it taught me how to organize myself better to be able to produce, and I realized how lost I was with regards to being organized in all aspects of my life,” said one student who completed The Basics of Organizing Course. “My world has changed 180 degrees with this course—it is an organizing process in all aspects of my life. Thank you for this course, as I start to live life from a new point of view.”
