Initially shirts were considered to be as undergarments that people wore under coats and other heavy jackets. There are some exceptions to this rule however as bras, vests and other undergarments do not fall into the category. Casual shirts for men are the hottest piece of clothing today. They are preferred by office going people as they can keep a man very comfortable.

Casual shirts of the formal type are usually worn by men who have to show up for important events and occasions. They are usually paired together with a tie or a coat. If you take out the coat and tie from the equation the formal causal shirt can then be worn to more casual events and gatherings.

However not all formal shirts can be passed off as casual shirts. Mens casual shirts are specifically designed keeping in mind the need for a casual events and occasions. Casual shirts do not need to give off a formal or sober look. Casual shirts are designed and manufactured in both the short sleeve and full sleeved style. Another main difference between formal and casual shirts is that formal shirts need to be tucked into the trousers while there is no need for tucking in casual shirts. These shirts look at their best when they are left free and un-tucked. If you tuck these shirts in they won't be able to give off their full appearance. A lot of mens casual shirts are designed with a short length so that they don't need to be tucked in. There are also some other crucial differences between formal shirts and casual shirts and that is formal shirts are usually designed with a single pocket in the front whereas casual shirts may or may not have pockets at all.
