Hydraulic elevator systems lift a car using a hydraulic ram, a fluid-driven piston mounted inside a cylinder. The pump forces fluid from the tank into a pipe leading to the cylinder. Downward movement actualizes with the car own weight. In general machine room is located in the ground floor. In machine room there is a oil tank (fluid reservoir) and hydraulic system on this tank, control panel and pipes. In the lift pit there are; cabin, counterweight (if there is), cylinder piston system, suspension device and buffers.
