Jhakoo Temple
Dedicated to the Hindu deity, Hanuman, Jakhoo Temple is an ancient temple in Shimla situated on Jakhoo Hill, Shimla's highest peak. According to the Ramayana, Hanuman stopped here for repose while looking for the Sanjivni Booti to resuscitate Lakshmana. A giant 108-feet-high idol of Hanuman stands tall at Jakhoo surpassing the statue of Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Although a long steep climb to the top; the temple visit is worth the effort and thrill with the monkey menace along the way trying to snatch your sun-glasses.

Built in 1888, this splendid structure was the residence of the British Viceroy Lord Dufferin. Located at the observatory Hills, it is surrounded by immaculate gardens and lawns, encircled by beautiful pine trees & rose plants. Earlier known as "Rashtrapati Niwas," The Viceregal Lodge, is now the Indian Institute of Advanced Study attracting students for higher studies.
