Real Estate agent Martha R Lopez is facing some damaging allegations of harassment and abuse of a black woman and her child

An African American woman and her child are in distress from what she is claiming to be years of abuse by California City realtor Martha R Lopez and the owner of her three bedroom two bathroom house she shares with her small child, Mikhail Arouk. The tenant, Sharika Sawer, an abuse survivor moved to the small town in the later part of 2014 and that is when she says her nightmare of harassment, emotional and mental abuse began.

The tenant says within 24 hours of living in her new home Lopez walked into the house by inserting a spare key into the front door, An action that is punishable n a court of law and considered illegal in all 50 states under Tenant and Landlord rights. and over a period of 2 and half years, Martha Lopez continued to show up to Sawers home with no notice to harass intimidate and abuse Sawer for rent and money for yard work,

Sawers nightmare did not end at frequent uninvited visits to her home. Bed Bugs began to bite her in the fall of 2015 which has now left scars and bumps and frequent trips to the store for medication to control swelling to help her fall asleep. “I thought Martha was different but she is not" Sawer penned in an open letter she published on Telegraph. "She has shown me she possesses the exact same evil abusive traits as our previous abusers and the blatant disregard for my child's health and well-being is blatant racism. You either care about his life or you don't and clearly, she doesn't care about how the bugs might be affecting him as well."

Sawer stayed optimistic hoping that things would eventually get better for her and her child but they have gone from bad to worse. She claims Lopez did the unthinkable when she sent a man to her house who approached her in the driveway out of the blue, repeating very private information Sawer had not shared with anyone but Martha about her child and hardships, he then offered to babysit but Sawer did not buy it and asked the man to leave after witnessing him behave oddly around her then 6-year-old child. Sawer later found out the man was a convicted sex offender who Lopez knew through a mutual relationship.

California City realtor, Martha R. Lopez told the tenants Attorney that it was the tenant's responsibility to treat the home for bed bugs. This is far from true. In the state of California, no such law exist that requires tenants to pay for inhabitable conditions.
