Kyu Hwan Yeo completed the CompTIA A+ certificate in order to work as an IT professional.

Kyu Hwan Yeo was always fascinated by computers and what they could do. He knew from an early age that his dream job would involve computers. While he wasn't sure in what field he would find work, Kyu Hwan Yeo knew if he could work on computers he would be happy.

Kyu Hwan Yeo began his career in a chiropractic office. "At the office, my tasks were to maintain the computer network and perform diagnostics. Since it was a medical facility, I also had to manage the database for billing files and update patients' information," says Kyu Hwan Yeo.

While working on the office's computer network was in-line with what Kyu Hwan Yeo wanted to do, he wasn't thrilled with the position. "I knew there was more I could do. I wanted to prove my skills. I quickly found a new position with a pharmaceutical company," says Kyu Hwan Yeo.

He began work for Rexahn Pharmaceuticals Inc. "I wasn't sure if I wanted to do all my work in the medical industry. But, I learned a lot from the company. I was introduced to two computer languages; PVM and Perl," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. His other responsibilities included the storage of chemical compounds in the company's database with a program called "ChemOffice."

"I still wasn't happy with where I was. I completed the CompTIA A+ certificate which is a starting point for professional IT careers. Fortunately, after the completion of the certificate, I was able to land the position I'd been really wanting," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. The position he found was with Eddy's International Co., where he was hired as Administrative Manager.

"It was the IT position I had been waiting for," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. The position allowed Kyu Hwan Yeo to really test himself as an IT professional. The international trading company was a break from the medical industry and an entrance into international business.

"I am responsible now for the maintenance and support of the computers and web development," says Kyu Hwan Yeo. He also performs translation work and maintains company contracts and agreements. "I'm very happy with my position now," says Kyu Hwan Yeo.
