A headache is the most common medical complaint which affects a person's ability to do everyday tasks. It can attack anyone despite of age and gender. A headache may rise impulsively or may be allied with some movement.

Many people assume that a headache means a migraine or tension, but there are several distinct types of headaches. Pain in different variety of headaches alters in intensity, area, and span.

Some other symptoms that escort a typical head pain are

Facial pain
Ear or eye pain
Difficulty in balance
Weakness
Dullness
Dizziness
Variation in eyesight

What causes headaches?

Today we know a lot more about headaches and its causes than we did before 30 years. The structure of head comprises tissues that enclose the brain, scalp, veins, sinuses, forehead, top of the head, left and right of the head, arteries, and muscles. The pain can arise in any section of the head. Head pain occurs when any of the mentioned section suffer irritation, inflammation, contraction, pressure, spasm, or tension. Causes of a headache depend upon the nature of the trouble.

Seldom, a headache may appear because of a lack of nutrients, mainly magnesium and some specific B vitamins. Nutrient insufficiencies can be due to poor diet, malabsorption problems, and different medical states. Sometimes lifestyle factors also play a primary role in triggering primary headaches. Some of these factors are-

1. Alcohol Consumption or hangover: If you had many glasses of alcohol last night you might wake up with pain in your head. Tha hangover pain consists of fatigue, nausea, irritation and vomiting sensation.

2. Food that contains nitrates: Nitrate is used in preserving food like salami, meats hot dogs, etc. Try avoiding them they can cause cancer too.

3. Lack of sleep or excess sleep: Lack of sleep and excess of sleep are significant reasons for creating head pains. Irregular sleep pattern, sleep disorder are linked with headaches. A cluster headache and hypnic headache can occur due to uneven sleeping habits.

4. Improper posture: Yes your poor posture can be causing you headaches. Incorrect position can create tension in muscles and strain. Next time you get a headache check your stance first. Tension and neck-related headaches can occur due to bad posture.

5. Gap in meals: It is very dangerous to skip meals. Skipping meals can lead to low blood sugar levels, reduction in blood sugars may cause the veins in the head to spasm, and you will begin sensing pain in your head.

6. Excess use of mobile phones and electronic devices: Brightness from your mobile phones, computer screen or television can make things painful. If you are spending hours in front of these electronic devices, you will surely have a headache, try to reduce it.

7. Stress & anxiety: Stress and anxiety can also lead to pain in your head. When you are stressed, it tightens your muscles which can also lead to spasm.
