We all love to try something new every day, especially when it comes to food. And what delights us the most is getting a taste of those exotic foods. Ordering Thai or Japanese in the comfort of your home is the definition of exotic for most people. But, if you’re an adventurous soul, here are some exotic foods that you should definitely try.

- Haggis
This signature meat pudding from Scotland is considered the epitome of culinary perfection. It was also immortalized in a poem by Robert Burns in the 18th century. Haggis is made with the organ meat from sheep stuffed into its stomach.

- Durian
It’s a Malaysian fruit, and it stinks. That is what most people know about Durian. But, Durian is popular in Southeast Asia where it is regarded as the King of Fruits. If you can ignore the offensive smell then the creamy, custard-like flesh inside is worth a try.

- Snake wine
As stated earlier, this list of for the adventurous eaters among us. But don’t be put-off by the name, this wine cannot kill you anymore than the snakes preserved in it. Snake wine is made by steeping venomous snakes in rice wine or other types of alcohol. However, their venom is mostly proteins, so they get denatured by the alcohol.

- Black ivory coffee
This delicious coffee from Thailand is an indulgence for the locals. The coffee berries are eaten by the elephants and excreted in their dung, but they stay for a longer period in the elephant’s digestive tract where they undergo fermentation, giving you black ivory coffee beans.

- Golgappa
This is a popular Indian snack, and like every snack, it is safe, clean fun. Golgappa is a small, crisp, wafer-thin ball made by deep frying rolled out circles of dough, which are filled with boiled potatoes, peas and seasonings and then dipped in a sweet, sour, and spicy flavored water. Pop a golgappa in your mouth and experience an avalanche of flavors.

- Prickly pears
This Mexican fruit has a vibrant ruby-red or golden pulp that is mild and sweet (like a cross between watermelon and lemon). Each fruit has a wealth of magnesium-more than an orange, apple and pear combined.

- Jellyfish Jelly
Don’t worry, Jellyfish are only dangerous when they are in the waters. Remove their trailing, stinging tentacles and you get a well-loved Chinese delicacy. The sweet and savory taste of Jellyfish jelly is worth a try. It is said to be good for arthritis since the jelly predominantly consists of collagen.

- Kiwano
This beautiful fruit is an African delight. The fruit has bright orange spiky skin filled with yellow and green seeds. The vibrant flesh tastes like lemony cucumber.
